Description: John Ritenbaugh points out that illegal immigrants have committed a crime by trying to steal their citizenship, placing an enormous tax burden on American citizens. No other country on the face of the earth, including Mexico, hardly a third world nation, would tolerate such an outrage. Amnesty is a general pardon granted for political reasons and, in one sense, could be compared to political "grace" or liberty from punishment—a fast track to citizenship without any responsibilities of citizenship. The Democratic Party is salivating at the prospect because it guarantees it perpetual control. This kind of amnesty will damage this nation economically and will permanently fracture its cultural cohesiveness. That which is attained easily will not have great value. Our citizenship in God's Kingdom will not be attended by such sloppy standards; to God's called out ones, citizenship in His Kingdom must be valued as the Pearl of Great Price, worth sacrificing a great deal to attain.
